Language notes

Kiswahili, English, and Rwanda's French option

Kiswahili (Swahili) is the widely spoken lingua franca across much of East Africa including Tanzania, Kenya, and Uganda but it isn't the language Canadian immigration documents or IRCC forms are prepared in. English is the official government and higher-education language across nearly the whole region, which simplifies most applicants' document preparation considerably compared to Francophone regions.

Rwanda is the regional exception
Rwanda's bilingual English/French status a legacy of its post-2008 shift toward English alongside continued French use means Rwandan applicants with strong French can also weigh French-language category-based Express Entry draws, an option most of their East African neighbours don't have.
