What Express Entry means for Gambian applicants
Express Entry is the online system IRCC uses to manage three federal economic programs. Federal Skilled Worker (FSW), Federal Skilled Trades (FST), and Canadian Experience Class (CEC). For Gambian applicants without prior Canadian work experience, FSW is almost always the relevant entry point.

Language (28 pts max)
IELTS or CELPIP scores across reading, writing, listening, speaking.
Education (25 pts max)
Requires an ECA. A Gambian bachelor's degree typically scores in the low-to-mid 20s.
Work experience (15 pts max)
Skilled work experience (NOC TEER 0–3) in the last 10 years.
Age (12 pts max)
Maximum points between ages 18–35, decreasing gradually after that.
Arranged employment (10 pts)
A valid, qualifying Canadian job offer. not required, but adds points if held.
Adaptability (10 pts max)
Points for a spouse's language ability, prior Canadian study/work, or family in Canada.
